The Horizon is equipped with a low step frame that makes getting on-and-off the bike quick and easy and is suitable for riders 5’0” to 5’10” (152cm to 178cm). The frame has an integrated 375wh battery that delivers up to 40 miles/64km of range and can be charged from flat in 5 hours – either on the bike or removed for charging indoors if you don’t have easy access to a plug socket near your bicycle storage.
The bike is powered by the well-regarded Bafang rear hub motor system that delivers 32nm of torque, making light work of hills and flat terrain riding a breeze. The motor has 3-power modes depending on how much assistance you want which are selected using the sleek and easy-to-use handlebar display which also shows the battery level and current speed. We’ve also fitted a walk assist mode that engages the motor to help drive the bike when pushing up steep hills.
The Horizon is fitted with a 1x7 speed Shimano gearing system with an upgraded Altus trigger shifter for quality feeling gear changes and low maintenance mechanical disc brakes. The front suspension fork has 80mm of travel to deliver a smoother ride on uneven terrain, and we’ve fitted a hydraulic lockout to switch the fork ‘off’ on less-bumpy parts of the ride.
